Dang that looks nice.
It's overkill.

But with a 6 gallon tank what the heck right?

The Nicrew 50w is just massive for this thing but the corals were browning under the Lominie A20 was just not enough! Par was in the low 100s on the bottom, less in other areas.

This thing is still 250 on the bottom and 400 to 450 at the top of the rock. I am going to have to tune and work on it but this thing will grow acros on the sand bed.

Hey I just got a nicrew 100w for my tank And got my first acro.
First impression... buy the controller. It's worth it 100 times over.

It has a nice frame, solid as a rock mounting on it and if you do it right you can get a lot out of it. I didn't think it was going to fit at all but I managed to get it on. It still needs to come back 4 to 6 inches to be "over" the tank but it puts out so much that it can be a little more and still get nice par in its shade.

Light itself adjustments, suck... I am not going to sugar coat it. However, once I connected the remote, game changer.

I am excited to see comes of getting it. The par meter helped too. Both are worth the buy.

Yea I got the controller a few days after I got the light. I didn't put the light up until then. But I keep my primes up so I get a bit more of a ramp, otherwise it just goes dark in one sec and my lights are on from 630am-9:00pm.

Believe it or not but today is the first day I have sat down and gone through every test I have for this tank.

It's Sunday, I have nothing to do so... why not. Some surprised me, some I ran twice just to make sure and others were right where I figured they were. I do however absolutely hate the Nitrate test from Red Sea... when testing on the high side the ranges are just crazy. You have to guess too much.

They are as follows.

Salinity 35
No3. 10 - 16. (I don't care until over 20)
Ph. .12
Alk. 7.8 (I would like it higher)
Mag. 1400+ (long as it's above 1300)
Calc. 340
Temp. 75
PH. 7.8

After dialing back the light the Money Shot Montie still looks bad but he isn't getting worse. Going to leave it low for the week, monitor him and then start ramping it up over the next few weeks 5% or so at a time.

I will try to put up some par levels this week so I can keep up with where it is now and what it is when it's increased.

Everything survived the weekend alone. I was worried as it was the first time I had left it actually full of money.

I came home to everything fuzzy and happy! I could not see the tank from my indoor camera and after changing the light intensity a week ago I didnt put it back in play and they did not come on the first day. Its a good thing I come home only 2 hours into the light cycle and was able to set it correctly but it had me worried if I had messed up this weeks bump and they wouldnt be coming on all weekend with me away. Lucky enough I was able to see the glow of the tank in the home camera though so I was able to verify that the light was coming on and going off as scheduled. You just never know with these things.

Anyway, that wont be happening again!

I know I am flirting with disaster here. I am going to have to rethink some things and adjust but I just couldn't help it.

Little Frag Box is doing good still. Little HA and some diatoms, lots of glass grunge now days but nothing a weekly cleaning can't take care of. There is some bubble algae though. Have been thinking of an emerald crab bit really don't want to have to feed that much. We will see.
