I’m starting to get the peers needed to build my 300gallon pond for my sharks. I’ll be using a 300 Rubbermaid stock tank. I’m trying to figure out the filtration. I was thinking a ghost overflow but the tank doesn’t appear to have a flat surface big enough to support it. And considering it’s only 24 high. There might be an issue with the sump. I want to keep the setup as compact as possible. As I intend to insulate and build a cabinet around it. So the better half doesn’t lose her mind. It will be going outside (Covered) by my pool in front of glass doors so want to make sure it somewhat aesthetically appealing.

Thoughts?

Don't some of the large black Rubbermaid tubs have threaded outlets near the bottom?
I installed bulkheads and running two Herbies. The issue I’m now having is my 1500gph can’t keep up with the Flow. I ordered a 3800GPH dc pump. By my calculations I’m going to need about 22-2300. I hope my 1” return can accommodate.

1" PVC will max out at ~2,220Gph.

Got it plumbed in. My guestimate I’m at 2200-2300gph. It’s keeping up with my two wide open herbies. At 75%.

No real head pressure. Rise is 22”. Pipe is 4ft Straight. Will empty tomorrow start filling with Rodi. Need to find a 55-60 gallon sump. I’m running a 40 Breeder and cycled off. It fills to an inch of overflowing. Don’t know how I’m going to add a skimmer. It’ll just float away. Lol

Maybe an external skimmer?
