If it were my own home, first off the tanks would not go back to back like they are, it just doesn't look all that great. and second i would drill holes in the floor and run a sump in the basement!

Purple Tang #2 in her new home, and enjoying her first meal in her new home, some good ol nori seeweed.

Both of my purple tangs will actually eat from my hand. They go absolutely nuts as soon as they see the nori package.

For a return pump on this tank i am using a catalina aquarium pump. Forgot the model number, but WOW..... I am using 6 90 degree angles in order to plumb these tanks together, and i don't think this pump has hardly lost any head pressure! I still have to dial it down a bit so that it doesn't blow my sand all over! I am impressed! Anyone with a 50g or less tank needing a good return pump, these are for you!

Its lookin' good!! I think you should paint the tubing the same color as the wall so it can blend in more and so you wont notice it that much. Also, tangs need much bigger tanks than a 30 gallon IMO.

Ya i thought about leaving the PVC white, but it was so ugly with the bar codes and all the numbers and words on it. Painting it white may work tho. I just had a can of black in my supply so i figured lets paint it!
And yes i am fully aware of tangs needs, and will watch for all signs of stress. I can't ask them if they are happy, but they look very happy and are constantly picking at the rocks, and frag plugs. No swimming back and forth, no ich, very fat and healthy. Now a blue tang or unicorn, or naso would be another story. Once these guys out grow their tanks, i already have replacements lined up to take their spots.

looks sweet. the wrap around doesn't look bad at all. nice job

Thanks! I am glad someone actually thinks it doesn't look all that bad. I really don't like it and my wife is ok with it(just cuz she knows we cant put a hole in the wall) but doesn't really like it either.

But man its going to be so nice only doing 1 water change, 1 temp control, 1 setup to dose, and 1 setup to replenish evaporation!

My pump is still a bit too strong for the tank. it is still throwing sand. But as the sand bed gets settled it will fix its self.
Frags were also thrown in just because i don't quite have my frag tank finished. Let me know what ya think!

Just about 1 week after the setup of this tank and putting it online with the 40g cube.

The sand storm has been contained and my LPS are starting to come out and look nice!
