Diagnosis on CBB

i have some sponges with bacteria on them that have been sitting for a month

Sitting out of water or running in your display tank?

The "long style" Tanks are much better for QT as they provide more area to swim. Your CBB will be a difficult Fish to successfully get through Qt with a DT Fallow period. Treatment must begin ASAP as CCB's in prime condition are a challenge to get feeding.

One tip form Marine Collectors on QT’ing Copperbands: Black out three sides of the tank. This helps keep the fish calmer and the Copperband from injuring its snout. I did this but buying glass blackout film on Amazon. It is very easy to put into the QT tank glass.

This is my protocol regardless of fish. Lost a Coral beauty, and a Tomini due to them freaking out in clear tanks and hitting the glass day two of QT. I black out two sides, back and bottom. When you clean the tank the panels they can see reflections in the bottom if your not using a tank mat it have the bottom blacked out, and they will also go into fight mode. Counterintuitive for running QT.

Ok thank you all, can i just run one qt tank i dont really have the space for multiple, and just treat it with copper?

Yes a 20 long is the perfect size QT tank for a few fish. What is the total number of fish you have?

I get the 20long, one polyblab genesis rock, a Fluval AC50 HOB, a Ti heater, and an Aqua top UV in-tank system to help with water clarity or incase an algae bloom or bacterial bloom takes places. UV is fine with the copper power or copper safe. Not good with cupramine.

That would be the best scenario - as long as the QT has a good biofilter. The fish are going to need to be in the QT for 60 days - 30 days of copper followed by another 30 days to ensure the ich has died out in your DT.

OP I hope this works out for you. The fish looks healthy to my untrained eye so that's a plus. Often people start off with a specimen that is malnourished which makes it very difficult.

Like winxp_man I usually do that. I have a CBB in observation now. I didn't black the ends out at first and he was glass surfing and would freak out when I walked up to the tank. Blacked it out, trained it to eat then removed the blackout and now he swims to the glass begging for food anytime it sees me. I try to accomplish this behavior with all fish before adding them to the DT.

This is my little buddy in my 40g observation tank. My biggest problem is getting the nerve up to introduce him to a DT. I've having second thoughts now because I have yellow tangs in both tanks and quite a few other tangs. He's been in observation for over 4 months. I kept my Hippo in almost a year before adding it to the DT.
He's checking out an earth worm I tossed in.

That 20 long should be good enough.

Here is mine with a 4.5” majesric, a 3” regal, a 4” rock beauty, and a 3” flame. 20long
