320 Gallon SPS Build

I forgot to mention the most import part, Design Changes. When I was going through some issues I made the following changes.

• Removed Bio-Pellet Reactor
• Stopped Dosing Bacteria and another liquid supplement other than Oyster Feast
• Added Aqua-UV 57watt Sterilizer (this clearly needs to be plumbed better)
• Added Aqua Logic 1/3 HP Chiller - Needs to be put in the basement.
• In Lieu of Biopellet Reactor added a SWC 250 Cone Skimmer. The goal is to replace both the SWC and SRO 5000 with a Big butt Bubble King or something similar when I get the cash.
• Removed Rock and Sand from the Fuge.
• Removed 75% sand from the tank.

Yes stable ALK was a goal of mine and I have tested it several times and it comes out 7.5 to 8 every time. It also leaves zero residue and well the results are best seen with two eyes. I have tried reef crystals and Salinity and was not impressed. It is a great salt with a good value I just bought 5 buckets for the winter.

Great set up!!! I was wondering if you could elaborate on the water changing system. Are you running water in simultaneous to draining water out? If you drain then fill, how did you equal out the volume? I am in the process of designing a new build and I want to do auto water changes.

Yes I drain and fill up at the same time. It is semi manual in that I need to turn ball valves. for the drain I have two ball valves that I close that go to the filter sock/sump. I then open the valve that drains to my house sump in the basement and is drained into the storm sewer. In the overflow I have installed a Pipe and a PvC U tube that draws exactly 55 Gallons of water. While the tank is draining and the sump is offline I have a 58 Gallon reservoir with saltwater prepared and circulating with a reeflo dart. This also pushes the water up stairs and fills the sump which will effectively hold 30 gallons. I have programmed my APEX with a Water Change virtual outlet that sets the tank up for water change and turns on/off necessary pumps and skimmers. by the time the 55 gallons drains the 30 gallons is in the sump. I then close the valve going to the house sump and open the valves bringing the sump back online and draw the water from the sump to the aquarium. I fill the sump twice. I change 60 gallons every two weeks in about 20 minutes. Ill try to take a video of it and post it. It is pretty solid. I also used a reeflo dart because it is a back up to the main systems pump.
