I just bought a new 3d printer and I've been printing anything and everything I can think of! Right now I'm building the 3rd generation of my refrigerated automatic fish food feeder. Teaser of the food container below :) I'll post pics to my build thread when I finish the whole thing.

I would love to try some 3D printed items. would love to have a smaller VarioS 4 Intake Screen. Is there anyone that is currently selling those?
Reach out to Clear Choice Aquatics on their site or etsy. I've had them print some custom stuff for my tank.

I have a 'nem guard, a brace to hold the sponges in place in my carbon reactor, and a mount/stick for my Seneye to take par readings. All awesome stuff!

i Have a 3d printer but I'm not a designer / engineer. So, I don't really do much designing. I use it to print pre designed Dungeons and Dragons content. :) That said, I'd love to use it for reefing, but it sounds like anything in tank / water must be Pet G, Which I've not played with at all. All my stuff is PLA. Secondly, things I'd like to print like the Gyre Fx350 nem covers, appear to be pattented or stl files held closely by Gyre. So, I haven't found anything "free to download" vs. buying each set for $65 each. (I have two gyres. would like to have 4 spare so I can clean the gyres and just swap the covers as needed.

I'm confident I could print them if there's an STL file for it. What about power brick mounting brackets? I've seen Echotech has them for $20 a piece or some ridiculous amount. I could probably print a lighter weight power brick mount for a lot less. I need around 10-15 of them. . . I'd rather spend $40 in PLA than $200 - $250 to buy them.

I would love a mount for my Tunze 5017 ato controller, It always looks and feels cheap to have it on there half crooked with velcro.
Hello! That was the first item I printed on my printer!!! And I absolutely agree that the controllers feel cheap and naked when without a proper mount lol

Most of my sump is 3D printed and I'm currently working on a modular frag rack system I am really chuffed with as you can build any shape you want with it. Working on some legs for free standing ones.

Nem baskets.
Hello, PM us, and we can help!
So do we know, is all resin reef safe? I haven's printed anything that actually goes in the water. Our 3d printer is liquid resin based, the kind with the UV cure light.
Resing SLA printers are not reef safe!! Use only PETG filaments

Guy in StL used to run a place called Printed Reef... Had a booth at many of the local coral shows. Made a whole line of frag racks, probe holders, dosing tube clamps, etc. Seems to be out of the game now.
WOW, I didn't know that!! You see and now the name is back with a different guy!!

on a side note what is a good entry level printer?

i got an ANYCUBIC MEGA S on black friday for a decent price.

What type of filament are people using? I have a 3d printer but have only printed with PLA so far.
PETG is what ive seen most recommended, so thats what im using

For example
  • HOB fixtures for my Eheim heaters and a Fluval filter
  • spacer grids to maximize the surface of filter foam stacks
  • a Venturi air injector nozzle for the outlet of my Sicce pump
    Venturi.png
  • the housing of my AquariOS controller
    ao_pct.jpg
    ao_pcp.jpg
  • a socket for the aluminum plasterer's float that makes up my FW LED mount
  • and in the works there's a bezel for a massive 6 kg aluminum heatsink, the base frame of my soon-to-be SW cube's 6-channel 7x7 LED system.
BTW, I use OpenSCAD, Cura and an Ender 3 with PETG.

I have a Red Sea Max Nano, and here's everything that is currently in there that is 3D printed. I mostly use transparent PETG since it has the least additives.

The top cover (my own design), printed as 6 panels then connected together:

A snail shell for one of my hermit crabs that is just the right size for them (he hasn't moved in yet) -- I printed 2 sizes so he can choose whichever works better:

An attachment to my pump return to increase turbulence

Neptune Sensor mounts and holders for incoming fluids from ATO and Dosing:

Little shims that I apply glue on both sides to to "wedge" rocks that have become unstuck (my own design). They come with a tab that you break off once it's in the right place so you can hide them better.

A "height extender" for the weir in the Max Nano. Because I upgraded the in-built skimmer that filled the space, I needed to add this. Otherwise the water would overflow.
