Hey guys. I've been thinking about 3D printing a sump, but since I don't have a huge industrial printer, I can only print one or two sides/baffles at a time. How well would silicone hold all the sides together? I will most likely also add bracing.

Depending on the type of plastic you could use weld on or melt them together. There are silicones designed for plastics but I wouldn’t trust it. What my main concern would be is if the baffles would hold water. 3D prints are pretty brittle and have small holes.

I will be using abs with at least 1/4 inch thick walls unless you think I should go thicker. The sump will probably be similar to a standard 29g but a bit shorter and wider

1/4 an inch would be fine. I don’t know much about plastics (only have built glass tanks) so I don’t know if plastic products work on abs. If you could circumnavigate the tiny holes I thouk you should be good to go.

Alright thank you very much for you input. If anyone else has any tips and such for me, please feel free to let me know. The more information I can get, the better it would be for me and my floor lol
