I started a 3gal tank about 2 weeks ago and am going to start a thread for it. Right now all I have on it is the stock light and an aquaclear 20 plus sand and rock. Tried testing ammonia, ph, and nitrite. Used API test kit. Can't for the life of me ever read the ammonia, forgot nitrite and PH was good. Tomorrow I will bring my redsea and salifert kits. As of right now I am getting the ugly diatom bloom.

I picked up a turbo snail and orchid dottyback for the tank. So far all is great. Just did a water change. Is a 17oz water change big enough or should it be more? There is only 2 1/2 gallons of water in it really.

I wasn't planning on a lid. Don't think it will jump there isn't much movement around the tank to spook it. I work in a gatehouse so it's very boring and quiet lol.
