48” Blade Grow over a 425xl G2 tank using the AI hanging mount. Height is adjustable using a pulley system meant for garden grow lights. Currently set at 8.5” above water level, 6.75” above to of tank. This way I can adjust height up and down depending on coverage and par needs, as well as able to raise them up when doing maintenance. Plan is to add another two blades in the near future.

The form of that setup looks really nice. Maintenance will be easy.

I am surprised how much light spill there is just up 8.5". Almost T5-like.

Aren’t those designed to be run almost flush with the tank? That would be super helpful for getting them out of the way during maintenance, but the light spill is serious. I’d run them closer to the water

Thanks :). I may lower it once I have the other blades on them and actually have rock fish and coral

Have seen them 12” above. The 48” long blades do not allow for just mounting on the ends like the shorter ones do, too long. That is one reason I used the pulley system though, sonI can get them out of the way if I do end up running them closer to the water
