Nooooo, you lost your astreopora :crying-face:
Sorry about that, most of you may not know this but I lost my lobophyllia a few weeks ago

Dang, it’s a shame you lost that. Hopefully you find another to replace it.

I’m hoping to find another bright green Astreopora but not too hopeful as I’ve not seen them in years.

I love the Taxonomic side of life, not just the marine hobby but in plants as well. It’s just so fascinating how everything is related and yet so different.
Best part of it is the subspecies and subgenera, Lo was by far the most interesting subgenus so far. And the Pygoplites subspecies are also intriguing.

I took chemistry, physics and maths. physics was a really really fun and easy course (for me). math was good for the most part as well. chemistry was hell, but I highly recommend you to take it because it will very likely benefit you in the future. Most of my friends took biology and they said that it was good as well.

Biology is (so far) my strongest subject and most of it is due to the hobby and the balance behind each piece of a reef, it’s strange how a reef has similar characteristics to a forest. I mean, even trees grow similarly in patterns to corals just on a much larger scale.

And each bacteria in the water balancing out to form a harmonic environment is much like bacteria and elements in the soils.

And of course, the fish that behave much like foraging mammals.

I already did!

it's an A. Pachysepta, while not a true lobophyllia (technically in the acanthastrea family) it has been in captivity for months and is free of the very thing that killed my last lobo (no burrowing clams!) And while I still hope to find a true lobophyllia, this one has been doing great!

Fyi, @i cant think Sophomore is second year of high school in US (following Freshman), followed by Junior and then Senior. More or less same for US undergrad.

Then again, I could be wrong because I'm ANCIENT (or at least feels like it now)

Back many years ago I did IB Chemistry, physics, and geography. Then majored in environmental engineering. Now I’m an “on scene coordinator” essentially a specialist in overseeing environmental disasters.

Never took a biology class despite my only real passion being animals and nature. I was unfortunately told by my chemist dad that biology isn’t real science just memorization. Ah well. At least I’ve got far more real world study than most biologists.

Ouch. Ah well, dated a chem major in undergrad. Didn't work out. Btw, biology gets much more interesting after university!
