40 gallon sps system alk dosing

Hey all,

i have a 40 gallon system. about 40 sps frags its jammed packed. i am using dos and Neptune fusion for dosing. when i started about 2 weeks ago i was only dosing about 1.5MM alk using ionic AB.. i dose alk and calc the same.

the thing is now im dosing 5ML per day and my alk is still lowering a bit. so im about to ramp up to 6ML per day.

is the coral just growing and thats why the consumption is going up?

does 6ML per day look about right for this type of system or should it be even more?

I'm not sure how strong that product is, but if you are dosing 1-4 dKH of alkalinity per day, that is certainly typical. :)

I have a 40b with a large clam and a bunch of SPS. I dose 35ml alk a day using BRS 2 part.
