As the title above says, I am considering a new project. I have been contemplating doing a 40 gallon tank in my bedroom for sps and a few fish. It will have Radion lighting over it and vortechs for water movement. My idea is to do no sump or skimmer at all. Just do a daily water change of a gallon a day. What are your thoughts on it? Can it be successful? I do have a reef octopus hang in back skimmer I can use but not sure if I want to. Thanks.

A lot of people, including myself, run low tech tanks. Not many are that large (mine is 28g). I have filtration though...it’s possible to run a tank with just a heater and a powerhead! Would not recommend that lol

The daily water changes and you will need to test parameters more often, like at least twice a week as compared to once a week.
