40G rimmed tank, rim cracked

I got this 40G breeder for free to use as a QT, and the top rim cracked, is it any issue to continue using it?

I don't think that is recommended as the crack can probobly spread.

As long as the rest of frame and silicone look good, epoxy it and don’t worry about it.

I was hoping that was the case. I've got ich in the tank and really needed to get this thing running

As long as it's just the top frame and not the glass then it should be fine to use.
