I have a 45g just under a year old with 20g high sump. I have live rock little over halfway up. Now my corals are mixed. I started with leathers, now have duncans, zoas, filling up on montis, and also a few sps. Aside from my clowns, I have 8 other small fish. Janitorial services provided by a few snails and crabs, a coral banded shrimp, and urchin. My urchin isn't looking too good, survived a few mishaps, one due to a power outage, but readjusted and hopefully getting some long spines back. After some trial and error and a power outage which devastated my system, my tank and I are coming back way better. Still working on phosphates though. And finally growing coral instead of bleaching them, haha. I did experiment with a 10 gal once, but the smaller the tank the bigger the struggle.

Now for the great. Firstly I'd like to say my PAR isn't too high but my coral seem to love it, so not upgrading yet.
Coralife Seascape 36in
4 wave pumps, around 950gph each
Fluval Sea skimmer
Aqueon 200w heater. I did have an eheim but the calibration was off
20g sump with refugium
BRS Media Reactor, replaced an HOB filter
Fluval In-Line Clarifier
4 stage RO/DI

I will post a pic of how it started, and my parameters.

Alk and calcium are a tad high. You want the following targets below. The tank is also a little hazy in pic. Adding a pouch of chemipure blue will Keep Phos in check and polish your water clarity.
Are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet ?

Temp 77-79
ph 8.1-8.3
salinity 1.025
nitrate < .5
phos < .04
Ammonia < .03
mG 1300
Alk 8-10
CA 440

also why is the rock so white, for a tank the is around a year old it should be covered in algae. i would replace your light at least asap if you want your corals to do better

That's a pic from long ago from a phyto outbreak, it doesn't look like that now oh no lol
Thanks, I plan on doing a water change today. I use RODI water. I mix with Instant Ocean Reef Crystals salt. I loaded gfo for the phosphate, hasn't been 24 hours yet. Will test later today
