Hey y’all so I started a 5 gallon frag tank. All there is is a hang on the back filer, heater, 2 wave makers, bio balls, some egg crate. I didn’t treat the tank at all. I’m hoping the bio balls from the established tank will be sufficient. Any other suggestions are appreciated!

I have a 20g display!
Looks great! Do you own another tank or was the bio balls gifted to you?

for my quarantine tanks I would use the “waste water” from my display tanks to get the QT stable.. if not just take it slow as the biology develops
I have a 20g display !

Do your water change from the 20 g into the new 5g. As the new tank matures you can start to add fresh salt water.

I always feel if the 5g doesn’t have a small fish in there then you should still add some water from your main tank. Corals need the fish waste and nutrients to grow. Maybe do a ratio of 1:4 or 50/50

Form or function: Do you consider your rock work to be art or the platform for your coral?
