I've seen some hydroids in the past that resembled this. But they were smaller and in dark spaces on my rock. Not quite the same I don't recall the ones I saw being exactly geometric.

I can't tell what that is growing on. But since it's my tank I will be prepared to hear it's a nuclear devils hydroid.

Nah, that's some kind of Corynactis, a mushroom, in the same order as Rhodactis, Discosoma, etc
Huh, ok. That's an odd thing to show up. I haven't introduced anything in over two years. It's about as big around as a pencil. Maybe a bit bigger.

I suppose I'll leave it be.

They like to peak out from under shadowed ledges in life rock. They get to about coin sized. They can throw babies across the tank but because they like the shadows, that's not a problem. Also how this one ended up on your glass probably. Makes dark spots in your tank less dull.

Yeah, these don't even need light, so can they live in a tank undetected for a very long time. They are almost never a trouble maker.
Oh I was gonna leave it. If it's last chance of entry was two years ago and i just saw it... Or one of its progeny for the first time. My bet is harmless at worse.
