50 Gallon Stocking Ideas

I have a 50 gallon mixed reef tank. I am brand new to the hobby so I am in desperate need of stocking ideas. I know I want 2 fancy clown fish but from there it seems like there are so many options it is overwhelming. I am open to any options!

You could do a couple flasher wrasses probably, beautiful fish, lots of activity in the tank.

what's the tank dimensions? Length, width, depth play a role. Is the tank covered or planned to be?

A few ideas for fish include: yellow assessor, royal gramma, swales basslet, chalk bass, stigmatura blenny, a trio of zebra or scissortail dartfish, flasher wrasses.

Agreed, Flasher Wrasses would be a good choice. It's a bit of a stretch but you could also do a Red Lined Wrasse:

It's a bit smaller than other Halichoeres wrasses. Just be aware that they will occasionally pick off hermit crabs and snails.

It is a 36" x 18" x 18" and is covered

I've got a melenarus in my 50g cube and he's awesome. Constantly moving and great colors. He does pick off the occasional snail, but it's well worth it.
