500 gallon predator tank

Bought the tank was up and running, had plenty of algae and bacteria growth, came with bumblebee grouper, and horn shark. Reset to make sure it was stabilized and added dragon, tesselata and green moray. Been running flawlessly. Nitrates and Phosphates are a challenge because of feeding, but it’s helps me intervene.

Thanks for the advice, man. I will look into all the above at the local LFS and see what they suggest.

If you’ve got a sump it’s pretty easy to add any of the above. Skimmer would probably be the easiest. But roller mats are very very effective

i agree ATS and bigger skimmer would be where i would start. if you feel what you got not keeping up.

Simply amazing tank! Best wishes! And of course, it's no comparison to your tank size and bioload, but my 150 gallon FOWRL regularly ran phosphates at 160+ ppm seemingly without bothering the fish.

Well it was fun while it lasted, it blew a seam in the front and we barely avoided a flooded house, back to the drawing board and Rubbermaid containers are keeping livestock alive currently. More to come

HECK NO️ Was that a used tank, or new? What brand? Had it been stored away empty, in a hot environment for many years? Did any of your livestock make it? This is very upsetting to see.

I bought it used with water still active. Everything was alive. I just think it wore out finally, so I am in the process of getting a brand new glass cages built, the animals are all safe and sound, and Rubbermaid with filtration and wave makers.

I am a Glass Cages fan as well. They built me two (2) 150-gallon tanks, with stands. Going strong after 5 years.
