Didn't build mine, but bought one from LifeReef that fit perfectly into my pentagon stand. This made a huge difference in my tank compared with the awkward sump and loud external pump it had for the previous 10 years.

Lifereef is expensive and it takes a while to build, but well worth the expense and trouble to me.

ps. That stand lasted for ~ 10 years, but it turns out was oak veneered MDF and suffered enough water damage over the years that I grew concerned about its stability. Tank is torn down at the moment, buffed out and waiting for a new wood skinned metal stand/canopy due at the end of the week.

Thanks. Nice tank

Thanks. I hope new stand looks as good as this one did.

You could fabricate a sump like this to fit your stand but if you are not handy with acrylic, then Lifereef or another custom sump manufacturer would be the best way to go. Lifereef will take 3+ months, depending on his backlog. Advanced Acrylics is another great sump builder, but their backlog is probably about the same and I don't think they do skimmers....
