The Tank:
I have commissioned Custom Aquariums located in Neenah Wisconsin to build the main tank. the tank has a foot print of 48”x96” at 28” tall peninsula style. I have opted to only do one of the two 96” panes with low iron glass with all remaining sides regular 5/8” glass. I have requested the bottom pane to be 3/4” thick for more support. The tank will come with braces. And the company is also building a steel stand for it. The display tank holds 550G and weighs 800lb dry.

The system:
my plan is to plumb 2x 80G frag tanks along the water chain and drain into two 75” tubs that will act as both sumps and auxiliary livestock holds. Total water volume may reach over 900G.

The house is 2 weeks away from move in ready. I have started dropping off equipments and supplies.
I will be using a 150 gallon stock tank as my sump. I am still debating whether to use another 100-150 or a shallow 50 stock tank to house my filtration and skimmer. This sump will be plumbed to the 550, and the 2x 80 frag tanks.
I have also ourchased 2x 65 gallon storage tank to house RO water. Will be building some frames and planning out backroom layouts this weekend. Tank delivery is Tuesday 22nd!!!

This is the hole where the 8’x4’ tank will align and extend out as a penninsula.

I plan to drill holes and allow one tank to overflow into another, and the other tank to overflow into sink to allow total of 130 gallon RO water reserve, and reduce risk of flooding

Bit more progress, I have comissioned carpenter to construct the frame for my eventual canopy, with a shelf and railings to place my Ecotech Radion 15 (x8) at a 10 defree tilt (will explain this later)

And I put together stand for the 2x 65 gallon water storage tanks, standing at 48” off the ground to store and distribute RO water in the future

The tank is here! Took 8 strong guys to move this 800lb behemeth through the doorways and to settle into where it is. Not to mention there is snow and ice outside. Had to pull the stand through the window, thank goodness we had gliding windows with both sashes easily removable.

Looks gorgeous!!! Curious if you know what par levels you are getting with the xr15’s?

Love the poster on the wall in the basement btw
I honestly don’t know the oar level, and They aren’t at full intensity either. I am running the preprogrammed AB+ at 80%.
i might see if I can rent/borrow a par meter one of these days. That says all photosynthetic critters seemed to be doing well, bubble tip nem, all sps, lps, and softies are fine

This is awesome
But, if this tank was mine, I would have wanted two gyres on the corners of the front pane instead of the wavemakers, to make the front clutter free I guess.
Love the tank
