Ok, I failed to capture this fella before my husband saw it and got attached. How plausible is a pico enclosure for just a gorilla crab? Just rock/sand and small filter? Is a light needed for their carapace at all?

Maybe I'll make a small macro algae tank for him/her idk.

I see no need for light except for viewing purposes.

I have a 6 or 7 gallon biocube. I’ve been putting pest hitchhikers in it for a couple years. I’ve dumped 25 or so gorilla, 3 stone crabs (all alive, one is getting big). I tossed a GSP frag in there 1.5 years ago and now it has taken over the tank. I feed it a couple times a week. Change the water about every 6 months.

Ok that's awesome. I was curious how often I'd need to do a water change with such a small bioload. Thanks for your input.

Zoom in and you should fine 2 stones and a couple other things. I once put an arrow crab in here. I put it in my main display and the arrow crab instantly started shredding snails. So in the pest tank he went. Irony is funny. Within 10 minutes the big stone crab ate the arrow crab.
