New to R2R posted some of this on DIY but I think this is a better home, left the hobby and my 120g after moving across the country 4-5yr ago for work, finally getting settled in. Found a great deal on this tank. Been working on the stand alone for about a month, taking it slow.
Using a lot of my old equipment from my 120g which may be a tad overkill but we will see!!!

BM Curve 7
Apex Classic w/ most of the attach
ATO v2 (just bought)
Titanium 200
Custom 18G ATO (I know, HUGE for a 60 but I made it work in the stand)
20g Sump DIY
10g Elevated Figifuge (FB find)
Jebao 9000 Return
Couple Jebao SW8 or RW cant remember with apex control (surprisingly still work, keeping an eye out for a good mp10 deal)

Lighting
Got a Kessel A380 with the tank or....
I have 4 Black Box specials wired for Apex Control. Not sure which to go with, the Black Boxes did wonderfully on my 120, I would only use 2.

So far I've resealed the tank:

Build This Stand, Pine face with Poplar, doors on all 3 sides for maximum use of space.
Outer dimensions are 31" wide and deep, tank bottom at 37.5". Everything squared on my table saw, I was off about 1.5 degrees square, not to shabby without a jointer

Elevated Fuge will be sitting on this sliding shelf, allowing access to equipment underneath.

Notice the accessibility 3 doors will allow!!!

BTW I Drilled the back of the tank for a return so i could have a Herbie, not enough
room for another bottom drill hole.

ATO new Fill Location, need to bulkhead with a 90 and hose attach. also need to attach that reactor to the back of the ATO container.

My MESS!!!
IMG_20190825_103145.jpg

Electronics will be location underneath tank, hopefully hidden from view. I am worried about the cabinet being to "tight" and not allowing enough air flow. We will see, may have to install some fans along the back.

Plan is to plumb/wire this week, then going to the DR for a week, start cycle when i get back.

What do you guys think of my design? IMG_20190825_103131.jpg

Slick work on the re-seal and stand!
I have a 60 cube as well. I mounted my Apex and modules on the outside of the stand. few weeks this summer where I had quite a lot of condensation.

Thanks man, appreciate that. Did some rough plumbing today, but another trip to the hardware store will be needed since I can't find one of my 8 Rolls of thread tape. Blue valves are for hose hookup for water changes, reds for siphon, fuge
And reactor when the time comes. Also need to clean the tags off

Awesome work on the stand man! With that level of attention I can't wait to see how the build goes. I'm also starting up a 60g cube, but had some delays due to an unfortunate crash with my other aquarium.

Thanks Wisco, sooo sorry to hear about your power failure, that’s got to be rough. What do you plan stock wise for your cube? I still have no idea for mine.

Thanks man, the power failure and ensuing crash was pretty demoralizing. After we got the generator going everything looked ok, so I really thought we were in the clear. Then the hammer fell ;Facepalm

For the cube I'm looking to go with easier corals to startwith, a couple nems, plus a small # of fish. I'm really trying to focus on corals for this build so I'm looking to maximize the cool factor of what I put in there fish wise.

Here's my current thoughts on stocking
bonded pair of mocha gladiator or mochavinci clowns
3 x yellowtail blue damsels
flameback angelfish
green mandarin
tailspot blenny
2 x peppermint shrimp
porcelain crab
bulb nem
rock flower nem

Finished plumbing and some electrical! Need to make my dam next to the drain lines a tad bit taller I think. Blue valves for water change with hose adapter red valves for fuge and reactors and one for Herbie drain.

For your water changes are you going to siphon out manually then use a pump to pump fresh salt washer into your tank via the hook up to your return line?
