Hi Roger,
I just installed two new 6105 Eco pumps. I have them in manual mode, inverse, alternating 10-50% flow. One of them is very quiet but the other one makes a rather loud humming motor noise at 50%. Is this normal? Is there a break-in period for these to quiet down? Is there anything I can do to make it quiet? It is rather annoying. Thanks!

There is a break in, usually the best is to run the pumps at a constant 60-80% for the first couple weeks, between parts seating and air in the pump as a general rule we expect a 50% noise reduction in the first few weeks and a further 50% in the next few weeks until parts are fully seated. You can run any speeds, the point is that 60-80% constant strikes a balance between parts wearing in promptly and the noise is less of an issue when it is constant vs changing pitch with speed. Things to check-

1) Make sure the housing you chose is fully clipped in, the gap is even all the way around.
2) Make sure the pump is deep enough it cannot draw in air vortexes.
3) Make sure the pump has no hard surface contact, for example in a corner or with a rock.
4) Make sure the cable is not against something loose like an arm, top, reflector, something that can vibrate.

You can try assembling it in water so no air is in the impeller chamber but as long as the pump is not pointed down or drawing in a vortex, air generally is completely out of the pump in about 48 hours.
