Hi @rvitko! I am in a need for a pair of new streams and was wondering how the 6105 and 6255 compare between each other regarding noise, flow, longevity and service (cleaning)? I am hesitant of stream 3, as I cannot figure out a proper placement for them, as the streams would need to be on the side glasses. My tank is currently 100 gallons, but I am planning to upgrade to a 200 - 240 gallons (6/7 ft long) in few years, so would like to future proof any new equipment purchases (and run the new streams at low power). The current tank has central weir and most likely the upgrade will have on too.

Also, if I would use the 6255 cover with the 6105, how would that impact on the performance?

Thanks for your input!

The 6255 was improved last year with regards to noise and service interval, but with a bigger propeller and stronger motor, it does create slightly more noise and build up calcium deposits more quickly. This also varies a lot by calcium and KH levels and Mg levels and especially where these additives are dosed in relation to the pump, I have found maintaining high Mg around 1450, greatly extends the service life. Generally for a 6255 3 months, 6105, 6 months For the tank size, for 100 gallons, 2 6105 is already a lot of overkill, 2 6095 can do this tank, for 200-240, 2-4 6105 would do the job very well, 2 6255 would be possible as well. I would generally suggest the 6105.
