70% of the recent posts in the pic are about anemones closing up. Even in my tank, I have 2 that are relatively smaller and more closed than usual. Is it possible they know it’s winter, and even with heaters and everything, it’s just a seasonal reaction? Or is there no correlation, and am I connecting dots that don’t exist?

IMHO you are connecting dots that... well almost don't exist.

70% of posts are about nems closing up because that's not normal. So reefers ask why. If my nems are doing fine, I wouldn't be asking any questions, would I?

My anemones (I have 30+ of 3 different species) all look the same whatever time of year it is.

We snorkel the Florida Keys a lot. Yes, in the winter the water temps go WAY down on shallow inshore reef flats. Temp range from high 80's in the late summer to as low as mid 60's during a cold winter. And anemones and zoas do not open up as much in the colder, shorter days.

IMHO, it's very unlikely they know it's winter inside your tank. If your nems aren't opening up, it's unlikely due to short days and cooler temps, assuming your light and water temps are maintained.

I agree, connecting dots that really aren’t there. This is the place to ask for help, just happened to see a string of people asking for help... Great place for advice. My anemone don’t care Summer or winter as long as I do my job lol.
