I found the right thread to post the progress of my tank build. In a couple of day it will be a year old:hat:

Equipment:

Lighting - 48" Aquatic Life HID Fixture 2 150 W Metal Halide 2 T5 and 4 Lunar LED
Protein Skimmer - Aqua EV 180 with Mag 7
Powerhead - 2 Ecotech VorTech MP40

Sump - Custom sump built from Max Reef. Dim 39"x16"x16"
Chiller - JBJ Arctica Titanium Chiller 1/10HP
Two Little Fishies Phosban GFO 150
SpectraPure MaxCap RO/DI System w/ Manual Flush - 90 GPD


Live Rock and Live Sand

45lb of Manado Live Rock
30lb of Fiji Live Rock
supplemental live rock
200lb Natures Ocean Bio-Active Aragonite Natural White #0



Build process: this tank was started 1/1/12 and is an upgrade from a excising 46 acrylic bowl front that i couldnt stand....

Sump, and a header i made from PVC. I use a Mag 18 as a reutrn pump, sump circulation, phosban reactor, chiller supply all with one pump!! And yes i have another Mag 18 on the shelf just in case...

For those setting up a new tank, dont freak out from your tank being cloudy as it will eventually clear and the silt from the sand will coat the entire system. This is VERY beneficial because live sand will seed the tank and sump with good bacteria necessary for a aquarium!

After taking great care of testing to make sure no ammonia, nitrite, and 0 nitrate thanks to the deep sand bed!!!
