I upgraded my 65 gallon tank to a 75 gallon to get an extra foot of room heres my old 65 gallon
I bought a 75 gallon rimless from the coralreef llc for 150 that was a good deal but needs some tlc
I cleaned it and soaked it in vinigar for days it felt like then after it was cleaned i decided to build a stand because funds are tight and i wanted something solid and not fiber board crap. Here are some pics of the stand. I used a template i found off of google.
I had to wait a couple days for the stain to dry so i painted the tank bottom and back jet black with krylon fusion. Then after it was dry i pulled thenold sump out cleaned it and i upgraded my drain from a 1 inch to a 1.5 inch for i can run more flow without micro bubbles.
I set up my sump. Skimmer. Ato. Doser. And everything finally fit in nicely. In my last tank the sump and ato were sticking half way out of the stand. The sump is a 36" long btw.
Next was the tank. I decided to go bb and didnt transfer over my dsb i had in the 65. after i took all the rocks and corals out i saw the build up in the sand and decided bb was the way to go. I installed my cheap global star leds and powerheads and cleaned up everything.
Let me know what you think guys. Questions, comments are welcome. Final tank specs are
75 gallon rimless
32 gallon sump
Bubble magnus curve 5
Eheim 1262 return
Gfo and carbon reactor (2lf)
(2) 300 watt global star leds.
(3) 800gph powerheads (generic brand)
