Looking to clear up my water a bit better. I've got filter socks and skimmer as only filtration right now. I do have a 2littlefishies reactor that I could hook up for some carbon, or run the media right in the overflow box.
Any other good filtration media or pieces of equipment people using with great success?
I ordered some trisodium phosphate today after my phos is showing 0.02 by hanna checker. Corals are all doing really poorly. Lost most of the sps and the LPS and anem look like they're in trouble. I'm having this pretty bad type of algae outbreak I'm hoping raising the phos will help with and maybe stabilize the tank. This is what it's looking like currently. I'm going to add 3 or 4 more small fish when stores are open again and shipping isnt an issue to help nutrients stay higher and increase fish feeds and waste. Tank is newer so hoping it's just routine new tank syndrome. This is a bit over 1 month after stocking it. Been cycled since January.
I hope you get everything settled soon. You have a beautiful tank! I have no advice for you (I haven't even started my first SW tank yet lol), but I look forward to watching your journey
How is the tank coming along? I love IM tanks! My son has the 20G Fusion. IM's headquarters is literally 2 blocks from my office here in socal. haha
Do you still have that brown diatoms looking algae? I still have that in my tank after 1 year of setup. Every water change I would have scrape it off the bottom glass and siphon out as much of it and let the filter socks handle the rest. Its not fun! It is on my rocks too but I just leave it for my urchin to take care of it but scares the crap out of me every time because it looks like he is going to knock over my acros or take them for a joy ride. haha
