This is a sad story... just brace yourselves.
I personally just got over the grief - and thus, I am back itching for more pain and torture.
Set the stage.. 2001, my basement in Aurora, CO. Where three tanks are thriving and pretty much paying for themselves in frag trades and plant sales.
55g FW planted... my wife has a blue and green thumb, that's all I can say. We would take first fulls of gorgeous aquatic plants to the LFS for trade ins.

75g reef show tank with a 20g refuge sump.

10g nano reef, just because I am out of control and for me to put my hands in daily to help me keep my hands out of the show tank. My wife's idea. Hahaha

I can't express with words the joy and the sadness of the week our reef tank crapped its pants.

My first born came home that week and we were now a family of three. A few days later we were crushed to find water all over the basement floor.

The quick solution was to attempt to shove everything that survived the night, into our 12 gallon nano. Then ran to PM to get a 30g to pipe the sump refuge to. Hardest part was the process of chucking corals and breaking up the LR. Tears flowed and we both decided that we were parents now and didn't have time to rebuild what was now lost.

Here are the pics I could find to help express our pain.

Scott at Todd's tropical in Aurora soon recieved two large rubbermaids filled with our reef. And yes, I gave him my moon coral - he took it home and set it in his large show tank and the last time I asked him about it, he had fragged it a few times and it was still growing. (I will be back for a frag, Sam! I WILL BE BACK!)
