Hi guys, I'm finally pulling the trigger on building a new tank after almost 2 years out of the hobby. I've been terribly fascinated with all the drop off reef tank builds I've been seeing lately so it's time I do one myself. I'm having a friend build it for me and he's built a few drop offs now so it should come out great! Put the order in last week for two sheets of half inch acrylic and work began tonight. So specs on this ended up being bigger than I had expected but oh well if I'm gonna do my dream tank it might as well be bad butt right?! Overall length will be 42" with 6" of that being overflow box, 24" wide and the shallow section will be 15" deep and the drop off will be 27" deep. Should be around 76-78 gallons without displacement from the rocks, by far my biggest tank yet but def the one I'll be keeping for many years. Will be ordering up a 30" or 32" SBreef LED light and using a trigger systems sump/fuge. Return pump I'm leaning towards a Waveline DC pump with a in tank power head for flow. I'm not sure what skimmer to go with yet but any suggestions would be great. Another friend will be fabricating a steel stand using 1.5" tube and steel plate all powder coated by a local shop. I'm hoping to start posting pictures in the next couple days of my progress. I'm super excited to be back in the game!! Just need to hit the point of aquascaping and pumping water lol. Stay tuned for lots of pics of this awesome build !!!!!

Went and checked out the tank last night and man is it looking good. Should have it home this week I'm guessing. Then it's stand building time. Sooo excited!!

I always picked up a Zetlight zt6600a, hoping it's got a good spread but should work out good
