After 11 hours of driving I am a proud owner of a used 80 gallon deep blue reef ready, stand, sump, skimmer and return pump. I am fried but so excited!

My Marco base rock, epoxy and glue arrived from BRS today too!

Earlier today I rinsed the rock I had in bleach solution and left outside in anticipation of being able to start scaping soon! I’m going to have my boys draw some pictures of what they think the rocks should look like. Should be fun trying to match.

I’ll start taking pictures tomorrow as I start moving stuff inside.

weeeee!!!

11 hours - wow!
From Wisconsin through Chicago to Indiana. Chicago traffic was terrrrible.

I may need to add some support to stand. Doesn’t seems like there is a lot holding up the frame the tank sits on.

I had sold everything I have collected over the years so I’ve been picking up rocks off Craigslist and Facebook. I managed to find a local that had some pukani! I’ve currently got that bleaching in a bucket but here is some of the other rock I’ve bleached and have air drying at the moment.

I recognized your name from WRS. You had some beautiful tanks! It looks pretty dead over there lately. Kind of a bummer. I always liked the fish parties/monthly meetings they held. So many beautiful tanks in the area.

spending the day on the road allowed me to get fairly high end equipment at a bargain price. It was kinda funny though, the guy hadn’t torn anything down because he wasn’t expecting me to drive all that way (he had a bunch of locals flake) lol!

Things are starting to come together. Something isn’t working right with my rodi, it’s running a bit slow but I’m on the last 35 gallons of water needed

My next project is to figure out a lid. I want to be wrasse heavy so it’s mandatory. I’ve done a few custom ones but trying to decide if I want to have a custom one made. Bringing the return pump over the back has complicated things a bit- tank was drilled for one drain one return, I decided to use both holes for drains. Anyone have thoughts either way?
Thanks for looking!

Decided to go with an Octolid. Should have in 6-8 weeks >.<. Gives me a lesson in patience and will help me from adding fish to the tank right away lol

I’m not sure if tank settled or if I just missed it but I noticed the tank wasn’t level tonight. Drained display and part of fuge and used an air bladder to lift tank so I was able to level. It doesn’t look bad but it was!

happy to say it went successfully! Was able to shim and bring to plum. Refilled and back in business!

Just feeding phyto letting pods grow while waiting for lid. Arrrg I want to add some fish so badly.

Picked up some macro algae from a friend. Also added some plating corraline algae from him too. Added the 5lbs of Australian live rock I purchased from tankstop. It fits in very well with my rock scheme.

Continuing to dose phyto daily to increase pod population. Started three buckets of tigger pods, one with the lazy mans banana. I’m very curious to see how this works!
