I had a build thread for my original version of this tank in the nano tank section but since I just did a major overhaul of the sump and plumbing I decided to repost this in the members tank section.

The tank would have been 3 months old in a couple days with the original sump but with the new sump it's where I want it to be for the time being (you know a week or so).

Current specs:
Tank: ALA 60s (same as a ADA 60f) 23.5" x 11.5" x 7.1" tall - 8.6 gal
Overflow/Return: drilled glass holes nano overflow and drilled return
Return Pump: COR 15 with a 4 output manifold
Sump: Trigger ruby 20c (made with blue acrylic instead of red).
Skimmer: Reef Octopus 110sss (not used but available if needed)
Water movement: mp10's x 2 (controlled via reeflink)
Lighting: Orphek Atlantik v4 with gateway (SB reef 16" wifi - replaced)
Refugium chamber 1 (Cheato): the skimmer section of the sump is my macro algae fuge. I have two different types of cheato in there
Refugium chamber 1 lighting: 10"x10" growlight led panel from ebay that illuminates the fuge from the side and is controlled to turn on if my PH drops below 8.2 and go off when it gets above 8.3. There is also a kessil h80 tunaflora that runs 24/7 and turns off if the ph goes over 8.3
Refugium chamber 2 (Display fuge): The refugium section of my trigger sump is a display fuge and is mainly xenia for nutrient export. I also have hammer's, zoas, paly's and shrooms in there. (along with a pair of ORA domino clowns)
Refugium chamber 2 lighting: 18" Current USA orbit marine IC. I have it running on it's built in ramp up and down program.
Controller: Apex Neptune 2016, seneye for ammonia while the tank cycles and PAR, reeflink for the vortechs. I have a FMM with 2 leak detectors, a optical sensor and a flow sensor for the return
ATO: tunze osmolator with a trigger crystal 10g ATO container
Dosing: Neptune DOS for Nitrate and Phosphate. 2 x brs 1.1 ml/min for Alk and cal
Water changes:2 x brs 50 ml/min dosers. I have a 5g trigger ato container for salt water and a 10g trigger ato container for waste water
Heater: 2x finnex titanium 100w units (I like redundancy) I control them with my APEX but thier built in controllers are set at 81' if the apex fails
Media reactors: I have a bashsea 4"x12" media reactor hooked up to my manifold that has BRS carbon in it

Maintenance and Feeding

Water changes:
I use my ATS to do about 1/8 gallon a day. My 5g container will lay me a month
Coral feeding: I feed my corals a combination of reef roids and reef chili in the morning and evening
Coral supplements: I add rd sea reef energy A & B in the morning and evening when I feed
Alk, Cal and Mag: I use ESV bionic 2 part to keep my alk at 9 dkh, Cal at 450 and Red Sea foundation to keep my Mag at 1350. I test Cal and Mag weekly and adjust my daily dose accordingly. I test alk daily and adjust my dosing according
Trace Elements: I add Red Sea colors weekly based on my calcium consumption

Well I decided the sbreef mount sitting on the rim looked clunky. It was also getting crazy salt build up under it. I was looking at what was available and decided to try making something out of black iron. Let me know what you think.

I'm also considering an orphek v4 or a couple slimlines so I have even coverage over the whole tank and this will allow me to mount that as well

Now that I can raise the light higher I may put the reflectors back on the sbreef and raise it up to see how the coverage is

Some more pictures of the ORA black domino clowns. My fiancé saw them at the store including the price tag and said we need to get them. She also picked out the ORA bird nest which had an ORA price to boot and said she would buy them since I spend so much on the equipment. I think she is a keeper.

I normally hate clowns, and I still do; but those black dominos look like killer whales with their 2 eye spots!!

That is exactly what my fiancé thought. She really wanted a pair of clowns for our display fuge but she just wanted some common ocelaris (she wanted a nemoto swim in an anemone and our main tank is all sps so the Xenia and torches in the fuge will have to fill in for a nice RTBA). I've been showing her ORA clowns for the past couple months and she kept saying no. When i showed her these she said yes because she loves killer whales.

This was brown when I got it, seems to like the lighting plus reefroid/reef chili feedings topped with reef energy.

Hard to get a good pic with my phone but it now has a pink purple body with blue tips and greenish/blue polyps

Here is another pic with a filter

A picture of the manifold. I have a cor15 running this. I know it's overkill but since my whole system is run with a 2016 apex I figured it was a good fit.

Holy **** that’s an expensive plumb job. Just got a new icecap36xl and looking to do something similar to keep that clean look. I am so tired of a messy sump

I know that I'm going to upgrade the tank once the initial frags I put into it turn to colonies. For this reason I wanted to make this so all I had to do was swap out the tank. The stand has a 24"x24" footprint so I have lots of options to grow. And the sump and return pump will handle anything I add
