Well I have it dialed in and initial readings are 200 par over all parts of the tank. I'll slowly raise this over the next couple weeks so I don't shock my corals. The colors are amazing, unfortunately due to nutrient issues and inconsistent light across my tank many of my new acros have turned brown. Hopefully the even par across the tank and my new nutrient dosing regimen will color them up.

I just hooked my BRS dosers up for alk and cal. I set my apex to dose every 30 min with a 15 min offset.

I went high tech with my dosing containers lol. I'm going to drill a hole in the caps for them so I am eliminate evaporation but for now I just took the caps off and stuck the hose in.

Well I got tired of the mess next to the tank so I did some clean-up of the dosers I also added a AWC as I'd rather do many small water changes vs one big one every 2 weeks

This is all in my stand for my vivarium

Going to let it run a few days into a container before I turn it on for the tank

So I have some annoying flat worms in my tank. They have been in my tank since Jan and haven't got worse but I'm considering some flatworm exit

I just dealt with some bryopsis by dosing reef flux "fluconazole". This really works well for bryopsis.

3 months ago that was a golf ball sized clump of cheato.

I would say the h80 and cheap ebay light are working

I think your 8 gallon has as much gear hooked up to it as the dolphin tank at SeaWorld.

Nice SPS growth after only 3 months! Looks great!

Thanks

My goal is to be able to swap out the nano with a 36"x24"x18" tall tank once the frags start to turn into colonies.

So far all this tech has made it so my parameters are pretty rock solid without any adjustments on my part other than increasing Alk/cal every so often. Maintenance has pretty much been testing to check stability and now I'm only testing Alk daily which is a couple min each evening. I'm waiting for the trident to eliminate that.

Well I got tired of not seeing my tank much due to my light cycle starting at 8 and ending a couple hrs after I got home from work.

I just adjusted it to go from 12-12, it nice to get home with the full lights on for a few hrs and really getting to enjoy the tank more now

So I have a leak sensor on either side of my tank in case it overflows or the sump leaks but I decided that was more reactive than proactive. I'm going to try an optical sensor on my display tank that will shut off my return pump if the tank level gets too high. I have two concerns one is that a pesky snail or two clog my overflow and since it's a single drain that would be bad and the other is that my return pump is a cor15 and way oversized so if something happens and it turns all the way up I know my overflow can't handle it.

I need to see if the sensor will stay in place with the magnet mounts only time will tell.

Well the tank has had some ups and down the last month an a half. I got married and left it unattended for 10 days and it unfortunately got a case of the Dino's due to no phosphates and some excess food due to the autofeeders. It's taken two weeks but I almost have the Dino's under control now that I got my phosphates up.

Here is a comparison shot of the first sps I put in the tank to show that things have been growing during all this

Thanks I started this in the members section when I redid the sump. I haven't touched much in a month or so and as expected things are looking good and growing. Now it's time to site back and let the frags grow in.
