90 Gallon Build

Just here to share my first ever saltwater build. I’ve been in the freshwater hobby for 10+ years and finally decided it’s time to get a little salty. I had a spare 90 gallon (48x18x25) laying around so I decided to start with that. Petco just so happened to be running $1 gallon so i went and grabbed a 40b to start my DIY sump. Had some extra lumber laying around from when I had to brace the floor for my 180, so I decided to build a new stand as well. Went with Exotic Marine Systems for my overflow, got the big guy as I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before i get rid of the stock in my 180 and switch that over as well. Still in the process but here’s a few pics of what i have so far.

@iGotJokess loving your set up. In the process of building my sump from a 40 gal breeder and while doing research I stumbled on a thread you mentioned Jax racks. Looked into them and have the refuge 40 gal breeder baffle on its way. Are you happy with the sump set up? Everything holds well? Considering its acrylic on glass and not glass on glass? I was in between this and the red one

I’m happy with it, does what it’s supposed to so that’s about all i can ask for. The lid over the filter socks warped a little but it still does it’s job. Longevity wise, I’m sure glass to glass would be the best, but out of pure ease I have no problems with this system. I’ll attach a few photos of it currently and the silicone I used for the baffles.
