So here is my 90 gallon cube build. I'm having a custom stand and canopy built for it. So the pictures are not the actual one I will be using.
Here is the tank before I have had a chance to work on it. No scratches just dirty and needs to be resealed.

Just helped a friend out building a stand and canopy for his 90 cube. He went bright white, modern. Worked out well.

Enjoy :)

I did grab a photo of the canopy, after it was built, before it got it's white epoxy paint.

Very thin plywood, poplar door frame pinned together with dowels, 1x1" poplar glue blocks, the only screws used were for the hinges. Lightweight, clean, and modern... which is what he was asking for.

Very nice! That's very close to the color I am going for but it will be slighly darker and the canopy will swing open left and right not up and down. But love the look of it!

I love the style of your stand! I picked up one with a similar style recently.
Are you going to keep the rustic look?

Yes, going to keep the rustic look. Going to pair it with black Hawaii sand. I think that will make it pop! Here is some updated pictures. So I ran into a problem. The stand was measuring about 38 1/2" and my door was only 35" (36 if I removed the trim). So I had to cut the bottom of it to get it to work correctly. The canopy was also incorrect size so I am having to have that remade. Another issue was the inside of the stand dims were off slightly so I am having to rework my sump design. To get the maximum amount of space down there I think I am going to have a custom sump built. :'-( I didn't want to spend the money on that but to get what I want I don't think I have much of a choice. In the pictures you can see where I cut the stand on the bottom. I managed to get some wood glue and support beams and run them back under and attach the parts of the stand I cut out. (not picuted) So honestly unless you are really looking you can't see it.

I found the knobs at hobby lobby for $6-7 a piece. They fit perfectly with the design. I wanted to get some of the octopus ones but I couldn't find enough of them but these work just as well and they seem a little more fancy anyways.

like the theme, wish I had the time and planned out a custom stand. even though I reinforced the stock stand, it still worries me from time to time ;Nailbiting

Ya this is like a 3 month long plan so far. I think I am going to have a custom sump built for it. I've checked around and it looks like "302 Aquatics" has the best price and the best bang for your buck.

I'll be honest, I dislike the "rustic" look (In everything, not just your stand). That said, I think you did a great job on the stand and I'm actually surprised how much I like it. I'm excited to see this build progress!
