I always run dry rock. It gets brown algae but it's never a problem, and if anything I like diatoms because they grow on the rock, making it look natural but never goes out of control, I love it.My "Ugly stage" typically isn't bad especially compared to others out there. But also so many frown on issues starting a tank with dry rock, im 6 weeks in since water hit the tank and 3 weeks with lights on. Tank progress is on track for where I normally see it.
Starting with established live rock wouldn't really see this stage which might be why you haven't had much brown algae?

last time took about 2 days to fully settle in its own

these are small enough im hoping to QT them all together and introduce at once in the main will cut down on aggression.


phosphate has dropped some since the last test so i dosed a small amount to ensure it doesn't hit 0. The test leaned more to the .03 level
Caught a pretty good sale going on so getting my stick itch haha
