Nothing better than the smell of dead asterinas in the morning. Operation Asterina Lavista Baby continues!

Quick little haul while the lights ramp up.

Otherwise, have some snail eggs finally - good luck little fellas, lots of cleanup work available on the reef!

Tank, seen here begging for an asterina snack..

Little WC and GHA removal coming later today - but otherwise, whole-house UV installed yesterday! Setup is now 80 TDS water delivered, 5 micron filter, UV, Charcoal filter, to house and RODI (to be installed off the washer hookup), still have ~80 gal RODI premade so I have time to procrastinate further :D

Well done except for that one non-parallel piece.

That UV looks on the small size to be a whole house unit. What’s the GPM rating?

I can't take credit for the install unfortunately, local company hooked us up with a package deal and the wife was only without water for 2 hours instead of 7-8 :D

9 GPM on this bad boy. Bulb will be replaced annually. Now we're ready for rainwater collection and don't have to flush out / replace $500 worth of old water from 2 of the tanks.

Aquarium WC delayed until tomorrow, snow day here! Which just means I get to move it around all afternoon..

Cool. Mine is 12 GPM. However, the transformer took a hit in the hurricane and I haven’t replaced it yet. It’s on my “to eventually do” list. It’s not such a worry for me as my holding tank is only 300 g and we blow through that quickly on a regular basis. I think part of it is the effect from all the Metamucil I take! Plus, I swapped out parts in our toilets so we don’t have the teeny 1.7 gal flush. That’s useless as, well, the Metamucil!

Or the teeny 1.7 GPF is useless BECAUSE of the metamucil.

Unrelated…Regarding your other post about having what sounds like it might have been a mentally rough day: pick up the phone and call me. I know, easier said than done but isolating sucks and you don’t have to be alone.

I appreciate that. I'm actually in a good head space. Just feeling lazy today.

Little moonlight shot from last night:

Otherwise, too much excitement here already today! Just when you decide to sleep in, a 5.4 quake hits.. All good here but definitely wide awake now!

I can never get used to the quakes, always freaky to look outside and see your vehicles shaking violently in the driveway..

Alrighty, getting ready to leave the tank for 8 days. WC done, some GHA removed, ATO sensor cleaned and tank filled, feeder filled and tube cleaned, skimmer emptied and turned slightly lower, etc. I have a 90 degree elbow for the cup drain on the way (should be here about 1 hour after I leave, go figure), planning to run it to a bucket for any week+ away from the tank. Next time.

Having a battle with my Melanurus Wrasse, he opposes GHA removal by now attacking any colored toothbrush I put in the tank, so that's fun...

Also increased the pump timer on the Avast auto feeder to better clear it out, feeder keg runs for 2 minutes, 3x per day, pump runs for 15 to follow.

Lighting duration also lessened by a few hours hopefully to decrease the algae nightmare awaiting my return. I'm definitely looking for an electric toothbrush during this trip...

Since I'll be passing the LFS, I'm going to really beef up the CUC also. And I'll be ridiculous if I don't grab a frag or two...

Also, the Rhodactis split appears to be going well as far as I can tell..

So it wasn't the orange toothbrush after all! Where you heading to for 8 days? I don't seem to recall you submitting the appropriate paperwork, nor us approving this trip.

Haha! We're not done "moving" stuff down to the new pad yet, trying to finish up that project.. And, the LFS is on the way so, I'm definitely not making this take extra trips

I suppose if it means more coral we'll allow it.
