What is the largest volume of water a Tunze 9410 Dc Skimmer can handle well ? I had this Skimmer on a tank with around 130 gallons and it worked fine. But if I go with a tank around 200 gallons should I upgrade to a larger Skimmer ? I plan on somewhat of a medium livestock load in the 200 gallon.
Thanks

It will mostly depend on inhabitants and other filtration and maintenance. I would be as confident on it handling a 120SPS as I would a 240 FOWLR, it could handle a 200 mixed reef if you did regular water changes and supplemented with a refugium, chemical medias, etc, but that would be at the upper limit of what it could handle.

Sorry to bump in... I’ve read on the other forum that if we upgraded the 9410 DC to the larger 9015.140 collection cup, the skimmer’s handling capacity could be increased, no?

Yes, but this part and 9020.140 are no longer available. I do have 2 9020.140 left in stock but we sold the last 9015.140.

So it would probably be better to go with a 9415 or 9430 ?

Beyond a doubt a 9415 would remove more.

That was actually the main thought in canceling the 9015.140 and 9020.140, these parts were expensive and had extensive hand labor, 9015.140 was 2 0220.140 cups cut and glued all by hand and they never looked really perfect because of the visible seam and for the $120 these cost+ the 9410 cost you can just buy a bigger skimmer and hand labor really slows down our manufacturing.
