A-crop-orah or Ack-row-pora

Ok, so i saw some people listing different ways to say acropora. Now i have never heard it pronounced a-crop-or-ah in any online videos or any store on the west coast.

Was in the LFS this weekend and brought it up. One guy said its an east coast thing, another said more academics say A-crop-o-rah, then another said even academics say it differently.

Thought it might be fun to post a poll.

It’s Latin
Acro=topmost, the tip
Pora = a soft stone

Hence stony coral

Never heard it pronounced anything other then Ack-row-poor-ah and I'm most certainly on the east coast.
