Had a bit of a different clam experience lately..a derasa clam I got as a replacement from Queen City Aquariums had been doing reasonably well, slowly growing from the tiny but apparently healthy specimen they sent me. Pretty much doubled in size over several months. Then one day it didn’t open like before. Next day it opened slightly but didn’t react to motion above it. Next day it was gaping and again nonreactive… next day same..its a goner, right? Much to my surprise the next day it was wide open like nothing ever happened..and has remained so for the last two weeks! Weird as F..no clam I’ve ever had has recovered from that level of dysfunction and I have the clamshells to prove it!
