I've decided to simply build a new one to replace this one. It's too full of coral to hope to reset it to its original state. This time it will be stand alone with its sump and filtration system.

Looks great.

Or maybe take out that Monti as it takes up so much room.

What size is the current Frag Tank?

What size do you plan on building?

The frag tank holds 10g of saltwater and is tied into the 400g reef. Frag Tank | Melev's Reef

This was it in February, three months ago. As you can imagine, it's worse now. ;)

Marc what are your thoughts on the Jebao Power Heads that everyone seems to be buying these days?

I don't like them, primarily because they don't have a proven track record of lasting a long time, and they are a big pump in the tank that I don't want to look at. That being said, I know many people like them because they are affordable, but they will be replacing them more often than I will my Vortechs. I've had the MP60s for three years, and the MP40s for six years.

What's your secret to keeping those tangs so healthy? (Wish I could have stuck around at the Nashville swap to hear you speak)

They get fed often. 3x a day minimum, but small portions. The rest of the time they seem to pick at stuff on the rock or return plumbing.

Wow! I didn't know coral could grow that fast o_O

Keep everything stable, and it grows. Make mistakes and you have to watch it die back and slowly recover just to get you back where you WERE. It can be frustrating. For the most part, it's been going well this 6+ months.

Understood.
