A Hermit Crab or Escape Artist?!

I just got home from work and found my hermit crab half way up the side of my tank! About 5 minutes later he was almost at the top! Unfortunately he fell off before I could put him back on the sand, probably because I was still busy laughing lol. Has anyone seen a hermit crab do this before?

Yeah I have a couple that do that and 1 that I have to pull out of my overflow about once a week.

Wow, I never knew they could pull that off. I thought he was one of my snails at first lol. Thankfully he hasn't found my overflow yet but I'll have to keep an eye on it now!

Good to know they're not as notorious as snails. I can't imagine trying to play hide and seek with them if I didn't have a top on.
