I always wondered if its possible that Sand sifting fishes, sea cucumbers etc will digest the Tomont stage of the parasites and if corals, gorgonians etc will feed on the free swimming stage (Trophonts) of the parasite?

I believe its possible that they do feed on them, maybe wont be able to erase all of them but lower their number significally if you have enough corals, sand sifters, sea cucumbers etc.

What do you fellow reefers think?

While it could be possible, it would likely have little effect in specimen such as cucumber
This is one advantage of going fallow to disrupt the cycle
Siphoning the sand surface is best way to prevent this
