I'm setting up a 180g and I already have some fish, like a convict tang trio and down the road I'm going to buy a black tang. However, I was wondering if anyone here has any input on a tang. I want a tang similar to the Vlamingi tang just without the huge size.

Own a bunch of tangs and have 3 currently in my 240. 1 Black, 1 chevron, 1 orange shoulder. As for a 180 and wanting something that will not get as big as a Vlamingi, I'd go with a orange shoulder or a lieutenant. Owned both and they get a good size, but not too much. My orange shoulder follows my hands already and eats from my hands. He really helps the black get use to me, even though I've had the black for well over a year.

Orange Shoulder, I'll add that guy to the list of possibilities. Do you think a Naso Tang gets to big for a 180?

IMO, the naso I had in a 125 (6 footer) was crapped by himself and not a bunch of LR. I beleve the naso family of tangs as well as a few other tangs need 8 feet of DT space at least for swimming.
