About to go office space on this Trident

I’ve had this trident up and running on this system for over a year. For maybe the first 6 months it was flawless and then that’s when all the troubles started. I’ve replaced 3 solenoid over the last six months and that has fixed it up until this last couple weeks. Now the exact same ones are out again. I’m getting calcium not being able to read again and I’m guessing it’s the same issue as before. I’ve done a factory reset as well as restarted it and now I’m also getting reagent a is empty even though it’s a full new bottle.

I have to say I’m pretty sick of this thing because it’s taking up more time to maintain it than it would be if I just used Hannah checkers that I currently have.

Anyone else have any ideas on how to fix this thing before I take it out back and pull an office space with the music on this thing? At this point, I’m really disappointed in this product as it’s supposed to save time and instead it’s costing me nothing but time.

I've noticed my trident act up and get similar error when the sample line is clogged.

Even a little build up in the sample line is enough to cause issues. Also make sure your sample line filter is pointing in the right direction if you use one.

I leave the cover off at all times due to the constant on going issues with this thing. I did pull that line completely off about a month ago and cleaned it. It’s possible I need to do that again however when I prime the sample line, I watch the vial fill to the top. So I know it’s getting a good sample.

Darn, so many mixed reviews with the Trident. I have two Trident systems and one is rock solid the other is pretty questionable. How has support been by Trident and do you think they can cover you under warranty?

It’s been cheaper and quicker fixes, just seems when I fix one thing then another part goes out. I found and sourced the same parts they use, just seems like constant issues vs using a Hanna checker. Idk I’m just tired of constantly fixing it. I personally don’t auto dos off of its readings so it’s really just there to help see levels. But this tank has been pretty stable on levels for the last year so it’s in some cases a moot point in having it.

One nice thing is I can tell if my QD DOS decides to error and loose connection since I’ll get the alert that ALK is dropping. However if I just go into the basement once a week and look at its status light that would suffice I guess. Idk I’m just tired of messing with this thing

For sure! I get your pain. That is why Hydros is starting out their new tester. Definitely seems like you might be a prime candidate for switching over.

Neptune Tridents are definitely hit or miss…

I think I paid $200, sent mine in to be refinished, got a different refurbished one (that’s the plan I selected) and got 2 months of reagent. My Trident was 2 years old and falling apart. Like a rental car that just came off the track at Talledega.

Not a bad idea to go this route, I’m not sure if I just want to get rid of it all together and eliminate the hassle or send it in. I’ve always kept the box for this instance. Mine also has done its fair share of laps at the talledega lol

Trident went in the trash Sunday. Maybe I’ll try again with another new one but for now I’ll stick to the Hanna checkers. Thank you for the help above

I've got two Tridents. Both were from the refurbish program and both were replaced under the 6 month warranty for refurbs. My original Trident went several years before needing work. Now it seems they don't last as long.
