My ASM mini-g pump seems to be pumping only enough power to move water, I have removed the inside parts of the pumps, cleaned, inspected, reassembled and tried everything possible to get it to pump strong enough to pull air through the hose. It wont. only when I submerge the pump and slightly raise the plastic air nipple on the pump exposing it to air does air flow through it and make bubbles but imo not enough to make a difference.

Either way my skimmer is down for at the least 2 days at the most until BRS ships my new pump (ordering tomorrow if LFS cannot help with the pump) gets here.

My question is, what should I do in the meantime to keep my phosphates from becoming toxic? Crazy WC's? I am going to cut feeding to every other day, and half it. Am i being over paranoid? I have a super small bioload for a 55 imo, 2 chromis, a small clown and a possum wrasse. I have lots of LR and lots of coral. Also lots of flow and a live sand bed. Will no skimmer create a big problem for me in 5 to 10 business days? OR even a few days. ANY opinons or advice on anything above would be helpful, im frustrated.

Make sure the new pump you are getting is the newer version of the pump they are using on the mini g. I forget exactly which pump the new one is but a little google searching should find it. They switched the pump they were using because of problems with the original one

I think you'll be totally fine. I ran skimmerless on 20 gal for 4 years and you have a very low bioload.

Not a problem. As far as not running a skimmer for a few days I think you will be fine especially if your bioload is fairly low. Some people have tanks that they have never run a skimmer on. Would I suggest that, nope. I would just keep an eye on your parameters and do a few small water changes. Good luck. Ill try to find out what the newer pump is when I get home from work and can get on the laptop instead of my phone
