I have noticed that my favia had brown slimey stuff on it. I was able to get the slime off and do an Iodine dip. Today I noticed one of my acans had the same thing. I am new to the acans and favias. I have 3 other acans. Should I dip them to be safe? Please any help would be great.

sounds like something is fighting with it (chemical warfare) or it dosnt like something in the water. how new are the frags? maybe an infection?

I have had them for about 2 months now. This just occured over the past couple days. The only thing around them are Acans. They are all seperated by about 4 inches? I am so confused. This is my first time with anything other than Zoas.

I'd run carbon after a water change asap.

If its brown jelly id either frag if you can or just chuck the frag out completely. Brown jelly wiped out my acabs when i first started by spreading. Dipped in iodine, coral rx and disnt work. Google brown jelly disease.

I'm not gong to say much as I'm no expert, but your calcium needs to be up around 400-450. You'll probably have to bring your Alk up at the same time. Do you have a Magnesium test kit? Might want to pick one up as the Calc-Alk-Mag relationship is very important in your tank. Dosing one will change the others.
