Acan and sponge on rock

I purchased this Acan 10 weeks ago and recently I noticed that a couple of heads had disappeared and a few others were flapping in the current. I moved it to look at it and discovered a white sponge like substance on the rock and under the Acan heads. This white matter is somewhat ' rubbery' in texture.

I have resited the colony to the bare base of my red sea reefer 425 in a lowish current area.

pH=8.1 Alk=7.5 Ca=410 Mg=1290 No3=16 Po4=0.02 SG=1.0234

lights are hydra26HD x2 set at ~ 70%. I did have a mistake a week ago which coincided with my discovery of missing heads, I had accidentally disabled acclamation mode on the lights so they were running 100% for a few days, I had thought that was the problem, then I discovered the spongy stuff.

Any thoughts on this matter?
Is there hope for Acans.

Photo is taken in white light when tank is dimming down and corals are going into night mode.

It looks like a sponge from the photo, however I am not 100% certain. If it is a sponge I would remove the coral and manually remove all of it then return the acan to the tank. Some sponges will choke out corals and kill them if left unchecked.
I am certain others will chime in too.

In that pic their color is good and they’re puffed up. They look ok in that pic. I don’t know what the spongy stuff is.
