Acan eating Bubble algae?

Today I noticed my acan had a circular bulge in its mouth a few hours later I looked at it and there was a bubble algae starting to protrude from it. Did it eat it or did it grow inside it?

The bubble algae probably was just floating around the tank and the feeders caught it.
