For those claiming acans love LEDS, has anyone done a before and after study of colorations? if all you have ever used was acans you might think they are the best ever, when really they are dull and lifeless.

Whenever I voted in this thread (maybe a year ago???) I was using purely LED, most of the acans held true to the color they had whe I got them but others morphed. a few months ago I built a 6 bulb T5 fixture for my acans and its amazing the colors that are coming back to those ones that morphed. The ones that didnt morph are just getting better.

I run nothing but LED for my sticks, have done so for close to 3 years but going forward its T5s only for the cans. I even bucked up an bought 6x24 ATI power module for a 60 gallon cube I have devoted to nothing but acans

My acan has lost a bit of its color under my t5 lights. I've moved it up and down in the tank hasn't made much difference. Although recently it has formed a couple of new heads. Plan on getting a lumentec pro soon.

Mine are under full spectrum dimmable chinese leds (the same as the Reefbreeders value fixtures). Colors are amazing, as is growth. The acans seem to love the lights. I do have the lights dialed WAY down, maybe that's the trick?

Any true rainbow acan in your collection?

I'm running t5s. Can't take a decent pic without it looking saturated with light. I plan on picking up some LEDs to run in addition to t5s

Local fish store I frequent has a nano with AI hydra and have been keeping rainbow acans in that tank. They've held their color for some time now. I'm 100% confident at this point that this rumor of acans losing their color and LEDs being to blame as a blanket statement...is false information.

I am using a diy full spectrum, 2 clusters, 2red,2 green, 2 uv, 14rb, 4 blues, 2 ww, 2 cw and my acans love it and they are keeping their rainbow colors.

Where did you place acans?

Mines was un top at first with crear color and growth.... Then i read acans could be con bottom so i move them.... 2 or 3 months later they colapse losing color and size

When I switched to LEDs they started changing colors and lost their orange and pink, almost became just one color, like a weird green brown. After putting the T5's back up they are now almost completely back to the colors they used to be.
